The pionus parrot is a medium-sized parrot native to Mexico and South America. Some characteristics of pionus parrots are chunky bodies, bare eye-rings, and short square tails. Pionus parrots are specifically similar to American parrots. Pionus birds are between 10 and 12 inches in length. Therefore they are basically the same shape, with a short and square tail.
